Isaiah 58:6-9 NKJV

6. Is this not the fast that I have chosen:
To loose the bonds of wickedness,
To undo the heavy burdens,
To let the oppressed go free,
And that you break every yoke?
7. Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8. Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
9. Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer;

You shall cry, and He will say, ‘Here I am.

Let each generation tell its children of Your mighty acts; let them proclaim Your power.

Psalm 145:4 NLT Bible

Many of us have faded memories about family members who have passed on because they didn't share their stories or we didn't make the time to listen, and today, these stories have died with them. As believers, we have an obligation to tell our children and grandchildren about the goodness and greatness of God. Some of us were privileged to have had people in our lives who shared stories of faith from the Bible as well as their personal miracles and victories.

We must do the same with our children to ensure that God's mighty acts are perpetuated throughout all generations. They need to hear how God created the universe, parted the Red Sea so the Israelites could cross over and sent His Son into the world to die for our sins. We cannot be silent about our faith and the power of God. Every victory, blessing and miracle needs to be shared and passed on to each generation. It's the best investment we can make in the lives of our children.

Thank you, Lord, for Your mighty acts. I pray that I will be faithful in sharing stories of faith and personal miracles with my children and grandchildren. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!

Lydia

1 Corinthians 13: 1-8 NLT

1. If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

2. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.

3. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

5. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.

6. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

7. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8. Love never fails……

I will be Your God throughout your lifetime-until your hair is white with age. I made you and I will care for you. I will carry you along and save you.

Isaiah 46:4 NLT Bible

Growing old is inevitable and we cannot hide from it or escape it. Many people go to extreme lengths to hide their age, but if only they would recognize that aging is a privilege and a gift from God. There is absolutely no reason to deny one's age. Instead, we should celebrate every year that God has blessed us with and make every moment count for Him. Even though physical ailments and limitations may come with the aging process, we should never let it hinder us from being productive and useful for God. He made us and has promised to take care of us and be with us throughout our life.

Many benefits come with growing old. We are wiser, more experienced, more compassionate, more knowledgeable and have so much to offer to the younger generation.  Every day should be an opportunity to be of service to God and others. This can only happen as we spend time in the Word and in prayer, allowing the Holy Spirit to renew, refresh and energize us. It may not always be easy to do some of the things we once did, but we have to keep on trusting and appropriating God's promise to always be with us and keep living life to the fullest, allowing God to use us for His Glory until He calls us home.

Thank you, Lord, for Your promise to always care for me. My desire is to love and serve you all the days of my life. Help me to use every opportunity to share Your Word and be of service to those around me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
