SUNDAY INSPIRATION and PRAYER

Even in old age they will still produce fruit;
they will remain vital and green.
Psalm 92:14 NLT Bible
Growing old comes to all of us but sometimes we
become acutely aware of all the implications and the reality of aging. In His
Word, God has promised each one of us a long life and it's also His wish for us
to prosper and be in good health, physically, emotionally and mentally. We need
to affirm these words daily because they are God's promises for us and our
families. We cannot determine the length of our life.....only God can, but we
can do our best to facilitate a healthy life. It may not always be easy because
of health problems, but we can certainly try. We should begin each day with
prayers of praise and worship to God, surrendering everything to Him and
praying for the needs of our family and others. Then we need to spend time in
the Word to receive wisdom and guidance for what lies ahead. Next, we must take
care of our physical bodies through healthy eating, exercise and fellowship
with others.
Growing old should not be a scary
thing. We have God's assurance that He will never leave us nor forsake us and
we need to grab hold of this great promise and get on with the business of
living. It may seem difficult at first, but if we are open to opportunities,
life can be exciting. We may experience issues with our health, but involvement
and service in the lives of others will go a long way in helping us forget all
the problems we may be encountering. We have to continually appropriate His
promise and live to the fullest, bringing honour and glory to Him.
Thank You Lord for Your Word. May I
be obedient to You so that I can rightfully claim Your promise of a long,
healthy life. Help me to always be thankful for what You have given me and to
never murmur and complain. As I grow older, show me what You would have me to
do. My heart's desire is to love and serve you all the days of my life. I love
you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
