There are many of us who live isolated and self-absorbed lives inside a bubble. Sometimes, it's unintentional, but for some it's deliberate. We consume ourselves with our personal needs and interests, totally oblivious to those around us, but this is not how God wants us to live. His desire is for us to venture beyond our boundaries and take an interest in the lives of others. When we do, we realize that there are many people who need something that we can freely give.

They may need someone to lend a listening ear, to pray and reassure them that they are special and valued. With God's help, we can get rid of our selfish ambitions and show genuine interest and concern for those around us. As children of God, we have a mandate to love and care for others.

Thank you Lord for Your love and compassion. Open my eyes to those around me. Help me to put their needs and interests above my own and be of service in any I can. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
