Today we celebrate fathers everywhere and honour the legacy of those who are no longer with us. Fathers play a major role in the lives of the children God has entrusted to them and it's one that must never be taken lightly. They need to be godly examples in everything they say and do. Children may not listen, but they are always watching how their fathers behave and that sets the tone for their behaviour.

Fathers must be steadfast in their faith and be courageous and strong. They need to model godly behaviour in the way they treat others and be role models of honesty, integrity, goodness and purity. Fathers have a responsibility to lovingly discipline their children and to teach them to respect all people, regardless of their differences. Above all, they need to instill in them love, obedience and respect for God.

Thank you Lord for fathers everywhere. I pray that You will bless and help them to be godly role models for their children. Fill them with Your love, strength and courage. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
