Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.
Acts 16:25
NLT Bible
Paul and Silas were imprisoned for preaching and causing a disturbance. Instead of complaining and bemoaning their fate, around midnight they prayed and sang hymns to God while the other prisoners listened. Suddenly, there was an earthquake that shook the prison and the chains of the prisoners fell off. Their open and genuine show of praise resulted in the jailer giving his life to God and Paul and Silas being freed the next day.
As children of God, we also need to live in an attitude of praise. Oftentimes, we focus on our problems when we should be trusting and praising God instead. We must choose to praise God at all times and especially when things seem hopeless and out of control. Praise ushers in change. As Paul and Silas did, we too can experience victory when we praise God.
Thank you Lord for Your goodness and faithfulness. You are worthy of all praise, honour and glory. I surrender every care and concern to you and I thank You for the answer. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
