Bible Verse for July 22nd.

The Lord has told you what is good, and this is what He requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

Micah 6:8

As followers of God we often complicate and overthink what it means to live pleasing and acceptable lives for Him. This verse encapsulates all that's required of us. We don't have to waste countless hours thinking about what we should be doing. We simply have to obey what He has told us here.

We are to always do what is right. This means doing the right thing at all times, whether someone is looking or not. We are to extend mercy to everyone, in the same way God has shown us mercy even when we are undeserving of it.  We are also cautioned to walk humbly before God, being neither boastful nor proud. Each day it should be our desire to live according to the precepts outlined in this verse.

Thank you Lord for Your mercy. Help me to always do what is good and right. May I be merciful to others and live humbly before You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
