Our eyes are like the mirrors to our soul. They reflect how we're feeling at any given time. We can try to mask our emotions, but our eyes usually tell the true story. As children of God, we need to closely censor the things we look at. If our focus is constantly on things that are negative and unwholesome, our eyes betray us and reflect that undesirable emotion.

We must fix our eyes on things that are pure and lovely. When we do this, our entire body is filled with light. Our eyes reflect God's love, grace and mercy. People look at us  and see the goodness that emanates from us. As we continue to gaze on things that edify, slowly but surely, our demeanour changes. 

Thank you Lord for my eyes. Help me to focus on things that are pure and wholesome. Let me turn away from anything that would cloud my vision and hinder my relationship with you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
