As followers of God, we need to be constantly censoring the things we say. Our words must be edifying, encouraging, helpful and uplifting. We must never use our words to tear down, insult, berate or criticize others. Sometimes, the things we say can hurt and destroy, so it's important to think before we speak, and if we're unsure about what to say, we should say nothing at all.
Each one of us will have to stand before God and give an account of every idle and careless word we've spoken. As such, we have an obligation to speak words of praise, hope, healing, restoration, affirmation and peace. Our words should inspire others to realize that they are unique and special and blessed with abilities to succeed.
Thank you Lord for Your wisdom. Help me to think before I speak. Let me use my words to help and uplift others and never to bring defeat or discouragement. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
