Bible Verse for May 24th.

O Lord, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I am in trouble?

Sometimes in relationships, we experience times when the other person seems distant and alienated from us and there are many contributing factors for this. Similarly, in our relationship with God, we have periods when we feel God is far away from us. Somehow, it seems that He's not listening to us and we're all alone and trying to cope with our struggles and difficulties.

We must recognize that God is always with us. He hears our cries and will answer in His perfect time. We need to look inwardly and see if we've drifted away from Him by being too consumed with our circumstances and by not making prayer and time in His Word a priority. When we think God is far away, we need to nullify these feelings by declaring His promises to always hear and answer us and to never leave us. God is with us and our duty is to simply trust and obey Him.

Thank you Lord for Your abiding presence. I know that You are never far away and that You're always at my side. You are my Guide and Protector. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
