Bible Verse for May 17th.

Always be joyful.

1 Thessalonians 5:16

If we allow it, many things can rob us of our joy. Regardless of what we're facing in life, we must choose to be joyful. If we rely on our own strength, joy will elude us, but when we surrender our lives to God, we can be joyful in the midst of our struggles and circumstances.

We will never have joy if we focus on the negative and troubling aspects of our lives. It's critical for us to let go of our fears, failures and concerns and simply submit and surrender them to God. It's difficult because we're human, and as such, it's easy to dwell on our problems. However, God is in control and as we look to Him, worry and sadness leave us. We then experience the joy that comes from God alone.

Thank you Lord for Your joy. Today, I choose to be joyful in the midst of all I'm facing because You are in control. I refuse to let anything rob me of my joy. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
