But Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often.

There was a lot that Mary kept hidden in her heart. As she looked at her Son, she thought about everything the angel had told her about Him and the impact He would have on the world. She probably had a host of emotions as she pondered everything that would eventually happen as her child grew. We too, can keep many things tucked away in our hearts. We guard them closely and think about them often.
We may hold on to encouraging words spoken by someone, dreams for our children, prophesies, treasured scriptures from God's Word and much more. Whatever it may be, we often find ourselves thinking about them, just as Mary did. When this happens, we can thank God for the promises He's placed within us and ask for His help in bringing them to fruition. We also have the choice to let go of negative and harmful thoughts that have been told to us and cling to the positive and affirming promises of God.
Thank you Lord for Your amazing truths. As I think about them, I pray that You will help me to realize all that You placed in me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
