Bible Verse for March 9th.

When Jesus heard this, He said, "Healthy people don't need a doctor - sick people do."

Matthew 9:12

People were both upset and somewhat amazed when Jesus mingled with men and women of questionable repute during His time on earth. As this verse tells us, He reminded them that it's not healthy people who need a doctor, but those who are sick. As believers, we're oftentimes guilty of only associating with like-minded people and we can be dismissive of those who are sick, lost, depressed, discouraged and struggling with unimaginable problems.

They are the ones who need us to reach out, empathize, care and share God's love with them. We cannot allow timidity or indifference to keep us from ministering to them. We may risk being rebuffed, but we have an obligation to try. We can stay within the confines of our cozy and comfortable group or we can be like Jesus and reach out to the lost, lonely and hurting.

Thank you Lord for loving me. Help me to love as You love and reach out to those who are hurting. Let me speak words of hope and encouragement. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
