Wise people think before they act.

We all know people who act impulsively and carelessly, giving no thought to their actions and the consequences that follow. They lack wisdom and do as they please acting on their whims and fancies. As believers, wisdom should be an underlying factor in everything we say and do and our actions must be based on sound judgement and godly counsel.

If we are wise, we are always open to advice. We refrain from anger and we are always considerate of others. We learn from our past mistakes, avoid repeating them and above all, we seek God when making decisions. James 1:5 tells us that if we lack wisdom, we simply need to ask God because He freely gives it to everyone. Each day our prayer should be that God will fill us with more of His wisdom. It's the only way our lives can bring honour and glory to Him.

Thank you Lord for Your wisdom. I want to live a life that's pleasing to you and I can't do it on my own. Fill me with wisdom so I can act wisely in all situations. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
