Bible Verse for March 24th.

"Get up and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation."

Luke 22:46
NLT Bible

Jesus was on the Mount of Olives engrossed in prayer, and in this verse, He cautioned His disciples to get up from their sleep and pray. He knew their faith would be tested in the days ahead and that they needed strength and power to resist. Sadly, they could not stay awake and ultimately succumbed to temptation. As believers, prayer must be our priority if we want to resist temptation.

We need to recognize that the devil is sly and cunning and will go to great lengths to keep us from praying and seeking God. Therefore, we have to be always alert and vigilant in prayer. It's quite amazing and somewhat ironic, that often we're tired, sleepy and distracted during our prayer time, but can be wide awake and alert for other inconsequential activities. Prayer equips us with strength, courage and determination to resist any temptation that comes our way. We cannot neglect prayer, because as soon as we do, we become targets for the devil and ultimately 'slip up' and give in to temptation.

Thank you Lord for Your faithfulness. I pray that I will always be vigilant and alert in prayer. I need Your power and strength to resist any temptation that come my way. I love you Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
