Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification.
Romans 14:19
NLT Bible
We long for peace in our relationships, but sometimes it seems unattainable. Strife and tension reign and harmony is lacking. As believers, we must make every effort to do whatever it takes to find peace and enjoy relationships that are mutually edifying. There are many things that contribute to the absence of peace. We may be selfish, argumentative, intolerant or lack respect for another's viewpoint.
This verse urges us to work towards peace. To achieve this, we must be kind, respectful, tolerant, considerate and ensure that we always think before speaking. We should use our words to edify and encourage and never to tear someone down. We may never achieve peace in all our relationships, but it should never be for lack of trying.
Thank you Lord for Your peace. Let me be a conduit for peace. Help me to do everything I can to encourage and edify others. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
