.......Bad company corrupts good character.
1 Corinthians 15:33
NLT Bible
As children of God, we must be very careful about the company we keep. This does not mean isolating ourselves or being rude or unkind to anyone, but we have to be vigilant and on guard about the people we allow into our lives. We should let our godly values and lifestyle impact our friends instead of us being lured and enticed into their way of life. Sometimes, it seems there's a pull to participate in the worldly pursuits that our friends engage in and there is need for caution.
This is when we need to heed the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit, recognize that our core beliefs are being compromised by the company we're keeping and take a step back from these unhealthy friendships. The company we keep speaks volumes about our character and to pursue these friendships can ruin our good character and affect our relationship with God. Friends should walk alongside us on the narrow path, edify, uplift and complement our lives and we should become better men and women of God because of our association with them.
Thank you Lord for Your wisdom and discernment. Help me to make good decisions regarding the company I keep. I want my life to impact others for you and not be drawn into their way of life. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
