It seems that we constantly need to be reminded of the importance to censor the things we say. All too often, we see celebrities and politicians having to apologize for their rash words and inappropriate actions. There's so much to be gained from thinking before we speak and act. As children of God, it is important that we use our words to bless, uplift, edify and encourage. There are also many people who are using their words on social media to denigrate and poke fun at others.

In order to watch what we say and do, we must examine our thoughts as they become our words and ultimately our actions. If we're hesitant about saying something, then it's wise to listen to our conscience and remain silent. Many times, in an effort to fit in, we may say and do things that are out of character and also displeasing to God. We have to keep our hearts and thoughts pure because they influence everything we say and do. With help from God, it's possible.

Thank you Lord for Your guidance. I want my words and actions to please and honour you and bring healing and hope to others. Help me to be mindful of everything I say and do. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
