Bible Verse for May 18th.

One day Jesus told His disciples a story to show that they should always pray and never give up.

Luke 18:1

Jesus spent countless hours in prayer and He wanted His disciples to fully grasp the importance of persevering in prayer and never giving up. To this end, He told them a parable about an indifferent judge who ignored a woman's plea for justice, but had to vindicate her because of her persistence. God also wants us to be vigilant in prayer, but many times we grow tired and weary when we don't see our prayers being answered. It seems that we've been praying for so long and the situation seems to be worsening. This is when we need to persist in prayer because God is in control and will answer.

Prayer shows how much we love God and yearn to commune with Him. We should pray at all times and during all situations, when we're happy, sad, discouraged, lonely, sick or healthy. As we continue and persevere in prayer, our faith grows and our relationship with God deepens. Prayer is as necessary to us as the air we breathe. Our desire should be to pray consistently and make it a way of life.

Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer. My heart's desire is to pray always and to never grow weary and tired of doing so. Even if there's no change in my situation I purpose to keep on praying, praising, trusting and believing. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
