Bible Verse for May 14th.

Before daybreak the next morning, Jesus got up and went out to an isolated place to pray.

When Jesus was here on earth, He was always busy, teaching, preaching and healing and oftentimes, He would seclude Himself to spend some quiet time in prayer. As children of God, this also applies to us today. We lead busy lives, always on the go and sometimes we neglect to spend time with God. Jesus saw the need to isolate Himself to be alone with His Heavenly Father and as people with flaws and weaknesses we should always make time to be alone with God, away from everyone else.

Setting aside time to be with God requires discipline and diligence. We may have to get up a bit earlier, leave some things undone or turn off our computers and television sets, but our private time with Him must be a priority. This is when we praise and worship Him, share our cares, seek direction and remain quiet and listen as He speaks to us. In His Presence we are recharged, refreshed and renewed and able to face the challenges of life.

Thank you Lord for hearing my prayer. May I never let anything distract me from spending time alone in prayer with you. In Your Presence, I am strengthened and edified. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
