If we truly want to follow God, we have to give up anything that would hinder us from serving Him. This means we surrender our lives to Him, relinquishing our desires and yielding ourselves totally to following God and His plan for our lives. We put Him first, dying to our egos and selfish desires. Our actions are now solely motivated by our desire to follow and serve God, wherever it may take us.
When we submit to God's will, things happen for us. Suddenly, all that matters is our relationship with Him. However, it's not always going to be smooth sailing as we will still encounter 'bumps' along the way, but thankfully, Jesus is with us. He has promised to never leave nor forsake us. Our priorities shift and all that matters is living for Him. Jesus is now the driving force in our lives and each day, we must surrender our selfish desires to Him and allow Him to lead us. Following Jesus is the best decision we can ever make.
Thank you Lord for leading me. My desire is to follow wherever You lead. I surrender my selfish ways to you and yield myself totally to Your will. With Your help, I purpose to live for you alone. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
