Bible Verse for April 30th.

When you make a vow to The Lord your God, be prompt in fulfilling whatever you promised Him.

Deuteronomy 23:21

We all know someone who makes promises and never follows through with them. In fact, we may be guilty of doing the same thing ourselves. We may promise to call a lonely person, visit a friend or pray for someone in need, yet somehow, we forget about it and never get around to honouring our commitment. When we break our promises, people are hurt and lose their faith in us. In fact, it is better not to make a promise, than to make one and break it. However, when we remain true to our word, we gain the trust and admiration of others.

Similarly, we are sometimes guilty of doing the same with vows we've made to God. We promise Him that we would do certain things and time goes by and we do nothing about it. Vows are never to be taken lightly. God honours His promises to us and expects us to do the same with the vows we make to Him. When we do, He is pleased and rewards us for our faithfulness and integrity.

Thank you Lord for always keeping Your promises. Help me to honour the vows I make to you and to those around me. Let me be true to my word and always be a person of honour and integrity. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
