Sometimes it seems that we're never contented with what we have and we're always longing for more. If we really think about it, material things can never truly make us happy or contented. Our lives might be a bit more comfortable, but true and lasting contentment comes from deep within us, born out of love and gratitude for what we have, all blessings from Almighty God. Many people can get wrapped up in wanting more, never being satisfied with what they have and they allow this desire to rob them of peace and happiness.
Discontentment is not pleasing to God. We should be appreciative of everything we have......our material possessions and the love of our family and friends. We can all benefit from living simply, being contented with the things we've been blessed with and never being envious of others. When we live like this, we lead happy, contented and blessed lives.
Thank you Lord for Your many blessings. Help me to be contented with what I have, whether it's a little or a lot and to never be envious or yearn for more. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
