Bible. Verse for March 15th.

Better to have little, with fear for The Lord, than to have great treasure and inner turmoil.

Proverbs 15:16
NLT Bible

Many people can attest to the contentment that comes from living a simple life, one in which material things are not at the forefront. With this simplicity comes a fear for God and a desire to honour and please Him. There's absolutely nothing wrong in the acquisition of wealth, but when it becomes the driving force in our lives, it can lead to stress and inner turmoil. There's always the urge to want more and more and life becomes a 'rat race' and God is left out of the picture. If only we can recognize that riches can disappear overnight, but the peace and joy we have in knowing God last forever.

We need to be contented with what God has blessed us with. We can lack material things, but when we have Jesus in our lives, we are rich in what really matters. The greatest treasure anyone can have in life is a relationship with God and it's the one thing that money cannot buy.

Thank you Lord for Your many blessings. Help me to be content with what I have and to never become a slave to wealth. My greatest treasure is having you in my life, because without you, I am nothing. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
