We may commit wrong things in secret and find great pleasure in it, but eventually it backfires on us and when it does, we find ourselves in a tangled web of deception and sin. There's an allure and excitement that many feel when participating in things that are morally wrong and they enjoy the secrecy and the thrill of not being caught. Sadly, this is short lived and when it comes to light, lives are negatively impacted. For many, it may start off simply, but before long, it escalates to verbal and physical abuse, stealing, illicit affairs, pornography and much more.

The devil is busy and is always trying to lure us away from the things we know to be good and pure and we must be on guard at all times. The instant gratification and pleasure of our hidden sins will quickly fade and when discovered can send us on a downward spiral. We need to repent of our sins, seek help and do everything we can to restore the hurt, pain and damage we've inflicted on others. There may be consequences to our actions, but with God's help, restoration is possible.

Thank you Lord for Your love. Help me to heed the gentle nudge of the Holy Spirit when I'm tempted to do wrong and never give in to the wiles of the enemy. Forgive me for the pain I've inflicted on others because of my secret sin. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
