We live in an instant age aided by strides in technology. No one wants to wait for anything. We get impatient if we're put on hold when calling someone, hate to wait in line for anything and being caught in traffic seems like the final straw. Patience is a quality that seems to be disappearing but yet it's one that we all need in our lives. God promised Abraham that he would become a father of many nations and that his descendants would be blessed. Abraham believed God, took Him at His Word and this promise was fulfilled.
God has promised us so much and we cannot grow weary and impatient. We have to appropriate these promises and be faithful and obedient to Him until they come to pass. As we wait, we must keep on praying, believing and trusting God. We may be waiting for healing in our bodies, our children to return to serving God or a relationship to be restored. Whatever it is, God remains true to His promises. People may break their promises to us, but not Almighty God. What he has promised will happen, in His perfect time. Our duty is to wait, be patient and never give up.
Thank you Lord for Your promises. Help me to be patient and to remain faithful and trusting as I wait for you to answer. I know that You are true to Your Word and what You have promised will come to pass. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
