Bible Verse for January 8th.

The Lord is my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer; my God is my Rock, in whom I take refuge.

2 Samuel 22:2-3

Many of us have entered this new year still chained to the things that have held us captive over the past years. Some of these may seem insignificant while others may have us on a destructive path. Whatever we may be struggling with, God is our Rock, Fortress and Deliverer. He alone can deliver us from every bondage and set us free to be all that He wants us to be.

The Lord is our Rock and Fortress. We can always run to Him and receive strength and power to face every challenge. He is our Fortress, our place of safety and refuge. Many people turn to friends and other sources for solutions to their problems, only to be let down when things don't work out. God loves and cares for us and is the best 'support system' we can possibly have. We serve a great and awesome God and all we need to do is to cling tenaciously to Him. We don't have to go through another year afraid and bound by bad habits and negative emotions. We simply have to take refuge in Him.

Thank you Lord for being my Rock, my Fortress and my Deliverer. You know the things that hold me captive and I pray that You will deliver me. In this new year, I want to live in freedom and victory and be all that You would have me to be. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
