And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, " It is more blessed to give than to receive."
Acts 20:35
NKJ Bible
These are words of Jesus that we should all live by. There are so many people who always have their arms open wide to receive from others without ever giving anything back in return. If only we could all realize how much pleasure and joy there is in giving.....just the look of gratitude and appreciation on someone's face when we've given them something leaves us enriched and blessed. It's ironic, but oftentimes, the people who give freely and regularly are those who don't have much for themselves. Yet, because of their generosity, their needs are always met.
As children of God we need to look for opportunities to give. They are all around us and it doesn't always have to be monetary as we can also give of our time. So many people have absolutely nothing...no money for food, shelter or clothes. The time is now to put into practice what we've read in God's Word. We can unclench our fists and give to those who are less fortunate than us. We don't really need more stuff to add to our cache of things. Remember, we are blessed in giving and God is pleased when we do it in a selfless manner.
Thank you Lord for Your many blessings. Help me to bless others in return and to do it in a cheerful manner. Help me not to be selfish, only thinking about myself and what I can receive. Lord, give me a heart to be able to put others before myself. Change me, O Lord and make me all You would have me to be. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
