And so, dear brothers and sisters, I plead with you to give your bodies to God because of all that He has done for you. Let them be a living and holy sacrifice-the kind He will find acceptable. This is truly the way to worship Him.

This verse urges us to present our bodies to God as a holy, living and acceptable sacrifice because of all He has done for us. We need to give our entire beings to God....our physical bodies, our minds and emotions. It means coming to God daily and asking for His help in keeping ourselves pure and holy and letting our actions reflect our desire to honour and obey Him. We need to take care of our physical bodies, through proper diet and exercise so that we will have the strength to be of service to God. We pay homage to God with every part of our being, honouring Him with our eyes by being careful of the things we watch on television or the things we read. We use our hands to worship him by the things we do and our feet by the places we frequent. Every action must bring honour and glory to God.
Our minds must also be subject to God as we let go of negative and destructive thoughts and focus on things that are noble, good, pure and wholesome. This is a work in progress for the child of God. We need to be constantly relinquishing anything that can negatively affect our relationship with Him. True worship is offering our renewed minds, emotions and bodies to Almighty God and making every effort to obey and honour Him in every area of our lives.
Thank you Lord for saving me. My desire is to bring honour and glory to you through my thoughts, words and actions. Help me to also take care of my physical body so that I can have the strength to serve you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
