When people do nice things for us we are so appreciative and readily express our heartfelt thanks. As believers, we serve a great God who is always faithful, blessing us in innumerable ways and we cannot neglect to praise and thank Him for it. We should begin and end each day with songs of praise and thanks to Almighty God. We may have neglected to do this in the past, but a new year is upon us and we should purpose to give thanks to God at all times. As soon as we get up in the morning, words of praise and thankfulness should literally flow from our lips, thanking God for a new day, for health and strength, for keeping us safe during the night and for His protection and guidance in the day ahead. Prayer sets the tone for the day, draws us closer to God and we are strengthened, edified and equipped to face any challenges that may come our way.
As the day draws to an end, we must remember to thank God for being with us all through the day, in every situation and circumstance and for keeping our loved ones safe. God is worthy of our praise and we should never miss an opportunity to thank Him for His many blessings. Giving thanks to God should come naturally to us. In fact, it should be as easy as breathing and He alone deserves our praise.
Thank you Lord for Your faithfulness. I thank you for this new day, for the privilege of simply being able to get out of bed. Thank you for Your guidance, protection and wisdom throughout the day and for watching over my loved ones. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
