The Bible is the infallible Word of God and is our standard for everything that is said to us, whether it comes from ministers, leaders, teachers, parents or friends. Every principle or teaching must be in His Word. The Word of God does not change....nothing can be added or taken away from it. It tells how we must think, speak and act and what is right and wrong. We live in an age where new ideologies and lifestyles are being portrayed as acceptable and if we don't immerse ourselves in His Word, we can easily fall victim to false teachings.

This verse tells us that this is exactly what the people of Berea did. They diligently searched the Scriptures to see if they were being taught the truth by Paul and Silas. As children of God, this is also our responsibility. Whatever is said or taught to us must line up with the Word of God and we need to ask the Holy Spirit to open our minds to fully understand the principles and truths in His Word. If we fail to do this, we can be easily deceived and swayed into accepting teachings that are contrary to the Word of God. We need to get into the habit of verifying everything that is told to us with the Word of God.

Thank you Lord for Your Word. Help me to be diligent in meditating on it and to always use it as my standard for every teaching that is told to me. Let me not be swayed into accepting anything that goes against Your Holy Word. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
