Bible Verse for October 29th.

Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.

Our actions must match our words. If we profess our love and belief in Jesus, then we must live as He did while He was here on earth. He was and continues to be the perfect example. Jesus was a friend to everyone. He epitomized love, compassion, mercy, kindness, gentleness and humility and He cared deeply about the needs of those around Him. Our Lord ministered to those who were hurting and brought hope to the lives of those who were lonely, discouraged and defeated. He loved to pray and on many occasions would retreat to a quiet place to be alone with His Heavenly Father.

As followers of Jesus, we must get beyond our comfort zone and reach out to the people around us, regardless of differences, ethnicities, religion, likes or dislikes. We are to love, care and forgive as He did, without picking and choosing, loving those who are difficult to love and those who may have hurt us. We must also be honest and trustworthy in our dealings with everyone. We cannot live like this without help and strength from God. This means commitment to prayer and fellowship, as it's the only way to fuel our desire to live as He did. The beauty of Jesus should be evident in our lives, in all we say and do.

Thank you Lord for being the ultimate example. My desire is to be like you, to live as You did, to love and care for those around me, to reach out with humility, compassion and kindness, regardless of our differences. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
