Bible Verse for January 29th.
Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God.
Romans 12:19
NLT Bible
When someone hurts us, sometimes our immediate reaction is to retaliate, to inflict the
same pain on that person. This verse tells us that it's not our job, that God will seek
justice for us. Many of us have been the recipients of insults, slander and betrayal and we
may think that we are justified in trying to get back at those who are responsible. We
invest a lot of time and energy, thinking what we should do and become consumed by it.
This results in a lack of peace, feelings of bitterness and resentment, an inability to move
forward, troubled minds and sometimes ill health.
The Word of God tells us that vengeance belongs to The Lord. We are to pray for those
who have wronged us, forgive them, asks God to bless them, continue to live in
obedience to Almighty God and leave everything to Him. He knows when we've been
wronged, He cares about us and in His time and in His way, His justice will prevail.
Feelings of pain mixed with anger may surface from time to time, but we have to give it
to God and allow His peace and love to permeate our hearts and minds.
Thank you Lord for caring about me. You see the pain and hurt that has been inflicted on
me. I give it all to you, Lord Jesus and I forgive those who have betrayed me. If I did
anything that was wrong to deserve that treatment, please forgive me. Search my heart,
cleanse and purify me. Help me to be all that You want me to be. I love you Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
