Bible Verse for January 13th.

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:21
NIV Bible

Everything we do and say is a reflection of the state of our hearts......our thoughts, words,
actions, desires, relationships and possessions. Our hearts focus on what we treasure the
most. For many people, their treasures might be material things, a home, a new car, a big
bank account, a job, maybe a relationship. There's nothing wrong with having these
things, but when they become our primary focus, then it's time to take a step back and
reevaluate our priorities. These things are temporal and can be gone in a second. We need
to treasure the things that will impact our eternity with God.
Loving Jesus means that we want to serve Him, that we are open to His leading and
direction and if necessary, would give up our earthly treasures to do His Will. Our
priorities change when our hearts are filled with God's love. We may enjoy the things we
have, but it doesn't control us. We must recognize that we are here just for a time as our
eternity is with Jesus and our hearts and minds need to be focused on heavenly things.
We need to acknowledge Him as our Lord and the treasure of our hearts.
Lord, You are everything to me. Without You, nothing matters. Help me not to hold on to
things that are temporal, but to keep my heart and mind fixed on You. I want to serve
You all the days of my life. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
