I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Jesus Christ is calling us.

We've all made mistakes, done things we've regretted and said things we should not have. However, they are all in the past and we cannot keep looking back and beating ourselves up about it. In the same way as runners keep moving forward with their eyes on the finish line, we must keep looking ahead to our prize.....eternity with Jesus Christ. We must avoid repeating our past transgressions and just keep forging ahead.

Every day must count. This means getting up each morning with purpose and passion and a desire to honour and serve God and others. As we do this, our personal problems fade. We must also deepen our relationship with God and yearn after Him, setting aside the things that can hinder us from reaching the end of the race. If we're holding on to bad habits, negative emotions and destructive behaviour, we need to let them go and keep going forward. Discipline, determination, purpose and perseverance must be our focus as we navigate through life's journey where our prize of being with Jesus awaits us at the end.

Thank you Lord for the promise of eternal life. My desire is to run my race with diligence and perseverance and to never let anything hinder me from receiving my prize of eternity with you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
