Bible Verse for June 28th.

And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long

Psalm 35:28
NKJ Bible

It's easy to praise God when life is good and taking place as we envisioned, but it's somewhat difficult to do so when we face stormy times and trials. However, when our children are 'acting up', our finances are in shambles, when we receive a bad medical report or some other devastating news, we seem unable to articulate praises to God. Some of us may complain and moan about our problems. As children of God, this is not how we should act.

We are to praise God all the day long. He alone is worthy to be praised. Praise takes the focus off our problems, increases our faith, edifies us and uplifts our spirits. We give praise to God, thanking Him for His goodness, protection, preservation and provision. Great things happen when we praise God. In the book of Acts, we read of Paul and Silas being beaten and thrown in prison, but instead of complaining and focusing on their dilemma, they sang hymns and praises to God. As a result, an earthquake happened, the prison's doors were opened and everyone's chains became loose. The jailer wanted to end his life, fearing that the prisoners had escaped. After being assured that they were all there, he asked what he needed to do to be saved. That very night he came to know Jesus. This is what happens when we take our eyes off our circumstances and lift up the Name of Jesus.

Our world is in chaos right now. We're in the midst of a pandemic, protests are happening everywhere and many people are agitated and afraid, but in the midst of it all, we can praise God and speak of His righteousness. When we do, worry and fear fades, situations change and His peace fills our hearts and minds.

Thank you Lord for loving me. You are worthy to be praised. No matter what comes my way, I will praise you all day long and speak of Your Righteousness. I love you, Jesus. Amen!

Be Blessed!
Lydia
