Am I my brother's keeper?

As children of God we cannot live isolated lives concerned only about ourselves and our loved ones. This is always true but more so at this time when we all need to care about the needs of the people around us. We ought to reach out to our neighbours, the elderly, single parents who are struggling,  those who are depressed, alone and the list goes and on.

At this time, there are so many ways to show that we are our brother's keeper. It can be as simple as thinking of others when grocery shopping by not buying too much so that others can't get, dropping off groceries for those who cannot get out to the stores, calling someone to check up on them. In fact, opportunities abound to show that we really care about others. Jesus was invested in everyone He met and if we want to be like Him, we have to do likewise.

Thank you Lord for caring for me. Give me a heart of compassion and love for those around me. Help me not to be selfish thinking only of myself. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
