May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favour and give you His peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
NLT Bible
Growing up I eagerly anticipated this benediction because it signalled the end of the church service. This meant it was time to go home, enjoy a delicious lunch and a time of relaxation. As I grew older I recognized the importance and true meaning of these verses. The minister was actually asking God to bless and protect us, to watch over us to grant us His favour and to give us His peace.
It's a benediction I look forward to hearing as I close my eyes and allow the words to penetrate my heart and mind. I urge you to meditate on these verses and to declare it over your children, partners, siblings, parents and friends. We need to let them know that God is always with them.
Thank you Lord for blessing me. I know You are always watching over me and I receive Your protection, peace and favour. I love you! Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
