What if the Lord had not been on our side?

Psalm 124:1

The verse poses food for thought and challenges us to think what our lives would be like without God. As believers, we must be eternally thankful that God is always on our side. However, upon reflection of this verse, it's easy to see that we would be lost and without hope if God was not beside us. In fact, we can probably recall how many times we would have given up on life during tough and trying times.

Many of us would not have survived loneliness, depression, bad relationships, serious illnesses, grief over the loss of loved ones, verbal and physical abuse and so much more. Our difficulties and struggles are specific to each one of us, but we know that without God at the helm in our lives, supporting and sustaining us, our situations may  have ended differently. Each day is a new day to praise and honour God for His abiding Presence in our lives.

Thank you Lord for always being on my side. Because of You, I've made it through the good and bad times in my life. I would be lost without you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
