Take control of what I say, O Lord and guard my lips.
Psalm 141:3
NLT Bible
Over the years we've all said something and immediately regretted it. This verse cautions us to be careful about what we say and how we respond at all times. Before we speak, we need to have a mental checklist to determine if what we're about to say is true, kind, helpful or harmful.
What can we do to keep a check on the words we speak....we need to relinquish control of our thoughts and speech to God.......to think about the impact of our words before we say them and to keep our hearts and minds pure and holy. With God's Help, we can. We must seek God's help continually if we want Him to be in control of what we say. All too often, we speak without thinking and wind up having regrets over what we said. What we say can edify or tear down. The choice is ours.
Thank you Lord for the ability to speak. May I glorify You in everything I say. Let my words be kind and uplifting to those around me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
