Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Romans 12:12
NIV Bible
This verse was recently posted on social media and has been resonating with me ever since. As believers we're called to be joyful, patient and faithful and if we're honest with ourselves, we've all struggled with doing so at one time or another. Firstly, we are to be joyful in hope and this is possible when our hope is in Jesus. Because of Him we can be joyful in spite of our circumstances.
Next, affliction comes to us in many ways and so often we become impatient when our situation isn't improving and we don't see a light at the end of the tunnel. In fact, sometimes it seems to be worsening but we are to be patient and trust in a God who cares for us and is working on our behalf. Lastly, we are called to pray and to be faithful in doing so. It means praying persistently and incessantly and never giving up. It may be difficult but God will reward us for our obedience.
Thank you Lord for caring for me. Help me to be joyful, to be patient in the midst of my troubles and to always be faithful in prayer. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
Be Blessed!
Lydia
