Bible Verse for August 19th.

Don't copy the behaviour and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.

Romans 12:2

This verse urges us not to copy what the world is doing, but to allow God to transform us to His likeness. We are living in an ever changing world where values and ideals we cherish are being eroded before our very eyes. It's easy to conform to new ideas that slip in quietly and if we are not vigilant, we will slowly but surely begin to appropriate this behaviour.

Our children and grandchildren are being bombarded with this new way of thinking. If we are not exemplifying godliness and are instead conforming to the behaviour of the world, they will too. As believers, we have to spend time in prayer, read God's Word and allow Him to reside in our hearts and mould our minds. Only then will our lives be attuned to God and we will be able to remain grounded in His laws and precepts.

Thank you Lord for Your love. Help me to not conform to the behaviour of the world but to hold fast to the ideals outlined in Your Word. Change my heart and make me more like You. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
