We all know people who are the epitome of kindness and consideration. They are always thinking of others, putting their feelings and needs ahead of their own. Similarly, there are some who live self-absorbed, going through life with a 'me' mentality, oblivious to those around them. As children of God, we are called to be considerate and gentle in everything we say and do and this should be reflected in all our interactions.
When we are considerate, we are kind and use every opportunity to show it. We are courteous when driving, we give our seat to someone who's standing on the bus, allow another person to go ahead of us at the checkout or we simply smile and say a kind word to someone who seems sad. We listen without interrupting, we are never rude or sarcastic, we respect each other's view and simply put, we let others know that they matter and we care about them. When we are gentle and considerate, it speaks to our testimony as believers.
Thank you Lord for Your kindness. Help me to be considerate and gentle in all I say and do. With Your help, let me put the feelings and needs of others above my own. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
