Many times when people give, there's a lot of publicity attached to it. Sometimes the reason for doing that is to encourage others to give to a worthy cause or it's just to be praised for being noble and generous. Our motives for giving should be pure and genuine. As children of God, giving is not an option. We are to give to those in need and to also support the spread of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There's no need to make our giving a grand affair. It's to be done quietly and anonymously with no thought of reward or recognition. We do it because we love God, want to honour Him and to also bless others who are in need of our help. God sees what we do, knows our motives and will bless and reward us for it. Just knowing that we've made life easier for someone in need should bring us immense joy and pleasure.
Thank you Lord for all that You've given to me. Help me to bless others in return and to freely give with no thought of recognition or praise. Let me simply respond to needs because of my love and obedience for you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
