Bible Verse for April 23rd.

So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust and evil desires.

Within each one of us is the desire to always do what is right and pleasing to God. When we accepted Jesus as our Saviour, He transformed our lives with His love, grace and power. We cast aside sinful things lurking within us and determined to live holy and changed lives. However, we're human and flawed and these evil desires can surface when we least expect it.

To safeguard ourselves, we must surrender daily to God and put to death these impure and lustful desires. We cannot do it in our own strength. We have to walk closely with God, immerse ourselves in prayer and in His Word and remain strong, steadfast and rooted in Him. It's the only way to be victorious and rid ourselves of these wrong desires.

Thank you Lord for transforming my life. I surrender these wrong and impure thoughts and desires to you. Cleanse and purify me and rid me of anything that would hinder my walk with you. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
