Bible Verse for April 17th.

You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden.

When flying at nights and just prior to landing, we can look down and view millions of lights illuminating an entire city. As children of God, we are lights of the world with a mandate to shine brightly for Him. We are to reflect Jesus Christ in all we say and do and those around us should be affected by our actions.

Sadly, many of us are living covertly, afraid to stand up and shine for Jesus. It's ironic, because when we truly know Him, we want to share Him with everyone. As believers, we should radiate peace and joy and people should recognize that there's something special about us. We cannot let our lights grow dim or go out. We must remain faithful and true to God and not conform or be swayed by pleasures of the world. Wherever we are, at home, at work or at school, we have a duty to reflect Jesus. When we do this, God is glorified.

Thank you Lord for living in me. I want my light to shine brightly for you and I pray that my words and actions will always reflect Your love and goodness. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
