Bible Verse for April 10th.

On the seventh day God had finished His work of creation, so He rested from all His work.

God was finished with His work of creation and on the seventh day He rested. He was not physically tired, but His work was completed and so, it was time to stop and rest. God was setting aside a day for rest and rejuvenation as a template for us to follow. Many of us can remember when this day was devoted solely to worship, rest and spending time with loved ones. Today, every day is crammed with activities and busyness and the sanctity of this sacred day is lost for many.

Left unchecked, many people can work non-stop seven days a week with little time for fellowship with God and with family and friends. We need to respect this day that God ordained and use it to worship and honour Him in whatever way we can. When we do, we are refreshed and recharged and ready to face the week ahead.

Thank you Lord for this day of rest. I pray that I will always use this day to worship and honour you. Help me to never be consumed with the hustle and bustle of life and neglect my day of worship and rest. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
