As children of God, our measure for right and wrong is the Word of God. Sometimes, obeying Him causes others to ridicule, ostracize, demean or make fun of us. When we love God, we strive to obey and honour Him. This means standing up for what is right regardless of the consequences and saying no when asked to participate in things that violate the Word of God.
To do what's right, we need to meditate on His Word, obey it and also listen to that still, small voice within us that nudges us when temptation comes knocking. Our feelings may be momentarily hurt and bruised when people ridicule us for standing up for our beliefs, but what really matters is that God is pleased and He will bless us. In an age where so many are vying for our attention, we need to hold fast to our faith and belief in God and keep on doing what is right and pleasing to Him.
Thank you Lord for blessing me. I pray that come what may, I will honour and obey you in all I do, standing up for what is right and pure. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
