People with understanding control their anger; a hot temper shows great foolishness.

We all get angry from time to time, but people with understanding control their anger and try to channel it to peacefully correct situations and bring about change. They think before acting. Left unchecked, anger can control someone's life and ultimately destroy them and also the lives of others. Reacting in anger can ruin relationships, cause physical harm and inflict emotional pain that may last for a long time.

Many people blame their anger on problems faced in childhood. Others claim it as a right reaction to being treated unfairly or being made fun of and some are just mean spirited and consumed with rage. Some situations may warrant anger, but our reaction is what matters most. Lashing out at someone solves nothing. We need to think before we act, walk away from situations and ask God for wisdom, direction and understanding to deal with problems in a loving and godly manner. A raging, hot tempered person simply appears foolish, out of control and accomplishes nothing.

Thank you Lord for Your understanding. Help me to control my temper, to think before I act and to never lash out angrily at others. Fill me with love and understanding. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
