Be careful to obey all my commands, so that all will go well with you and your children after you, because you will be doing what is good and pleasing to The Lord your God.

When we are obedient to God, the effects are far reaching. We are blessed and these blessings also extend to our children and future generations. To obey God means to heed His commands, to be faithful through trials and temptations and to always stand up for what is right and honourable, regardless of the consequences. Sometimes, obeying God may prove to be difficult, but the importance of meditating on His Word and spending time in prayer cannot be over emphasized because it's in His Presence we find the strength and fortitude to keep on being faithful to Him.
When we obey God, we have His favour as well as the assurance that all things will work together for our good. We are also doing what is good and pleasing to Him and that along with His promise of blessings for our children should propel us to keep on heeding His precepts. Obeying God and leading a godly life is the best legacy we can leave to our children. The rewards of obedience outlast us.
Thank you Lord for Your many blessings. I pray that I will always obey Your commands and be faithful in all I do. Help me to do what is good and pleasing to you and be a godly example. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
