Bible Verse for May 16th.

Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children.

Ephesians 5:1

As believers, we need to imitate God in everything we do, if we want to lead holy and righteous lives. Our loved ones, friends and colleagues are looking at us to see if our actions line up with our beliefs and we must ensure that our lives are exemplary. To do this, we must look to God because He personifies everything that is good and pure. He is loving, kind, holy, righteous, compassionate and tender hearted and has all the attributes we should emulate.

In order to imitate God, we must first know Him and be in an intimate and ongoing relationship with Him. He has to be the centre of our lives and everything we do must be all for His honour and glory. We can't go wrong when we follow in God's footsteps. We may find it difficult at times, but He is always with us. God is our perfect example.

Thank you Lord for being the perfect example of all that is holy and righteous. My desire is to follow in Your footsteps and to let everything I say and do reflect you. Help me, in turn, to be a godly example to those around me. I love you, Jesus. Amen!
